Junior Athletic Development programs build the foundations of both a healthy lifestyle and optimal performance through childhood and adolescence, through fun, engaging and progressive coaching sessions. They are a perfect complement to young athlete’s sports training, whilst also engaging children not so keen on organised sport.

Years 2-5

Emphasis on fun and ‘learning through play’ with a progressive, games-based curriculum design, scaled so every child can achieve while learning the basics of moving well and mastering their body strength.

Class Options:
Tuesdays 1600-1645 
Classes run 44 weeks per year.

One Session per week = £22/month 

Two Sessions per week = £40 per month

Years 6-8

The older age program maintains a large emphasis on fun while also teaching athletes to ‘learn to train’ – for example understanding basic principles of exercise such as progression and goal setting.

Class Options:
Mondays 1645-1745
Tuesdays 1645-1745
Thursdays 1645-1745
Classes run 44 weeks per year.

One Session per week = £22/month

 Two Sessions per week = £40 per month

Years 9-13

Athletes are coached in a ‘Team Training’ environment, working on their own individualised program alongside athletes of all ages, to ensure maximum progression.

Class Options:
Online booking system with sessions available from 1500-2030 daily in term time, with additional mornings in the holidays. Optional Nutrition and Mindset team sessions available weekly.

£40 per month for unlimited coaching sessions per week.

Half Term Camp - Years 5-8

When: Tuesday 29th October 2019

Time: 0900-1300 (drop off available from 0845)

Where: Southern Academy of Sport, SN15 3RS

What: Four hour camp for junior athletes containing the following:

1. Bodyweight strength training – rope climbs, monkey bars and climbing wall

2. Hand-eye coordination and vision training – sport specific skill development, working on executing skills under pressure and fatigue.

3. Mindset workshop – how to deal with losing, injuries or being dropped.

4. Acceleration, Reactions and Agility session.

Pricing: £25 per athlete, £20 for second siblings.
